JUDGE KEITH GATES FOR

• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northwestern State University in 2004

• Two law degrees from LSU in 2007 (Bachelor of Civil Laws and Juris Doctor)

• Law Clerk for a Supreme Court Justice at Supreme Court of Louisiana

• Started a law firm in Washington, DC that fights government corruption and waste

• Prosecutor experience: City Prosecutor in Winnfield from 2013-2020

• Judicial experience: City Judge 2021-2026

• Academic Experience: Teaches as an adjunct professor of law at Northwestern State University and teaches negotiations at LA Tech University

• Member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, and all Louisiana State Courts.

• Has served in the Louisiana City Judges Association, the Louisiana Family and Juvenile Judges Association

• Fiscal Responsibility - Keith won't waste your tax dollars! As judge, Keith consistently operated within budget without requesting additional appropriations. He will work with the Winn Parish Police Jury to keep costs low, saving the taxpayers money.

• Tough on Crime - Keith believes in tough sentencing for habitual and violent offenders. The people of Winn Parish should not have to worry about criminals stealing off their porches or harming their loved ones.​​​​

• Strengthen Partnerships between Law Enforcement and the Community - Keith will foster strong partnerships between law enforcement, schools, churches, and community organizations to prevent crime before it happens and build safer neighborhoods across Winn Parish.
